#1 Moose, Fish Rivers & Lakes

This is one of our favorite routes because it encompasses just about all the Boundary Waters has to offer - Beautiful scenery, good fishing, and your best chance at seeing moose!  Throughout this trip you will paddle a small winding river, two wider rivers, cross two beautiful glacial lakes and camp on a small serene one.  For the fisherman, the route provides areas teeming with smallmouth bass, walleye and northern pike.  If you are in search of moose, your best chance is here, but you must be quiet, scan the shorelines and keep you fingers crossed.  We cannot promise a moose will appear but we can guarantee this area contains one of the highest and densest populations in all of Minnesota.

Recommended Outfitting Packages:
If you are going to take the shortest route our Ultra-Light Package will be more than enough.  If you intend to take the longest route and get back into the wilderness you will want the lighter Kevlar Explorer Package.
